90 degree oil filter adapter

guys! I just installed new gaskets on the 90 degree adapter. somehow didn't install cork gasket. Put the thin gray one on bolt between and adapter and bolt, started engine ,no leaks, do you need the cork gasket between the block and adapter?, or should I not worry about it.

Some engineer put it in there for a reason. I'd say use it. Way cheaper than a rebuild.

It can cause a filter bypass.

I would install it to be on the safe side.
