90 degree oil filter adapter.

I was able to remove threaded fitting that filter attaches to on side of block.

Then I was left with this:

Here is my question: does this part come out, or does the 45 adapter bolt up to this .

is that a canton plate?
pop it off and see if there is a O ring seal in between that and the block
if so, someone will want to buy that from you
(and if it aint, someone will want to buy the nipple on the first pic, so dont toss that)
 
There is a ring gasket behind the plate. The adapter uses the same gasket but you will want to replace it. Sometimes they are as hard as the block itself and make you think its not there.

Only it it is a stock, stamped steel unit

Hey I'm almost 75 yrs, mistrakes are common here.
 
Did you get it off?
Was it stamped metal or aluminum?
