What do the experts think is causing this flare at the top of 2nd gear? Almost sounds like the band releases then grabs again. Also wonder if the sprag in the converter could be malfunctioning?

Shoot, I can barely hear it .
I wish I could have made it out there last weekend. And there goes Joe Ritchie in the right lane lol...

Sounds absolutely great from here!

It sounded good on the run to me, but I thought I heard it on the burnout.

My car did the same thing. It was the Cheetah reverse manual valve body . It only did it after warmed from the first round. You can hear it in the second video.

Sprag not involved in 2nd gear. If it is truly slipping in 2nd if could be the clock spring. At higher rpm they “unwind” and lose clamping force. Does it have a multi spring pack or reverse wound spring? If it is at the 2-3 shift, it is probably missed timed over lap in the clutch and band timing. I couldn’t hear much.

It has a multi spring pack, CRT T-brake reverse pattern VB. It happens before the 2-3 shift. I'm going to try replacing the VB with my A&A unit, and see what happens.

Maybe get John Cope's opinion? Just a thought.

A&A VB corrected ours . With the Cheetah VB no brake it flared 2nd to 3rd. Shift light set a 8000. But not on the first pass. Only once the trans was warm from a previous run. Type F fluid.

Engine was 7 years old and down on torque due to bad compression rings on the runs above. But would still flare. It was worse when the engine was fresh and tried 2 different transmissions but used the same valve body.

I’m running CRT 904 kit and his RMVB and the multi spring pack. Timing of 2-3 is spot on, but you’re saying it is flaring prior to the shift. Could it be driving through the converter? Fluid level?

I think I'm driving over a crack in the track that caused the car to spin for a split second. Will find out this weekend.
