I finally got all my linkage parts that I need and it still don't go together right. I think I have the wrong Throttle rod lever. (I think that is the right name please correct me if I'm wrong) this is the best pic I have if you look it comes out and steps down im pretty sure it needs to go up. I'm pretty certain its not on upside down the round side goes down and the D side goes up correct? Do they make different style levers?
That would be a lot of help i have ran this same setup before but this time I can't seem to get it right this time I think the lever is wrong. I wasn't aware they made different ones for 904 torqueflite I thought they were all the same
I zoomed in you can see the kickdown lever it looks to me like it's facing the wrong way the step should go up not down.
904 throttle lever is different than the 727. Here are some pictures of them with fancy red letters labeling which is which. A picture of the 904 lever attached to the transmission with the kd cable on it at well. Oh also included is a picture of the kd cable attachment lever
The top 2 are the gear selector lever i got that covered its the top kickdown lever thats in question. I know I don't have any 727 stuff as I've never owned one all my stuff is 904 from about 4 or 5 different trannys I'm guessing they changed threw the years and I got the wrong one
There are only a couple different styles of levers, short, long, and bent... that bent 904 one is correct though, my 904 is a 69 904 transmission. It looks correct on your transmission though, maybe try and get a little bit better of a picture.
Yea i will. Thanks. I know I have ran this same setup before and never had an issue but now for some reason the kickdown is interfering with the Hurst cable.
Thats the correct 904 lever. Goes straight on and has this orientation when installed - when looking at it looking from the top and from the front.
I just don't understand why it's interfering with my Hurst cable. I have used the factory lever before without interference i don't understand why it's not working this time.
I'm not using the cable for the kickdown I have the factory style linkage for it. The cable is only for the Hurst shifter
