The transmission should have numbers stamped on a flat above the oil pan. You can tell the year from that number without pulling the pan. I'd also get a 4.0 kickdown lever, adjust the bands, and pressure while you are in there.
has a 4.2 leaver in it. my buddies shift kit and psi has been turned up already.. also has a low gearset and other A&A parts in it, its a nicely built 904.. trans has about 7500 miles on it since it was built.. with 3.23 gear i never thought about a part throttle kickdown.. now with a 2.76 it feels it needs it..
