904 shift problems

First things first. I have a 904 trans with a trans go 2 shift kit.
It is in a 66 Valiant with a 360 LA engine. When taking off in
drive on the column shifter it does not start off in first. If I put it
in low on thr column it with start off in first.I can then shift the
shift lever to 2nd, and it will shift to second. When I move the column
shift lever to 3rd. it will not shift to 3rd. unless I momentary let off the accelerator/ What am I missing? I did adjust the linkage to make sure
it is in the detents.I almost forgot I have the Boucillon kickdown linkage set up. ANY suggestions will be greatly appreciated. 63 Toad

Check fluid level in neutral and make sure the kd lever is all the way back when the carb is all the way open. And make sure the kd linkage is fully returning; not hanging up partially back.

Was it working right before you took it apart? If so, then you did something wrong. Time to recheck your work and find your mistake.
