Hello All,

I had a pump drive Lug failure on my 904.
it took out one of the 3 ball bearings on the back of the pump support.

Question is would the same part from a Lockup 904 interchange with a Non Lockup Back Half of the front pump support (stator)
The part # is the same on both that I Have.
This is the lock up one:

Thank you for any help on this!

That's a really good question, but sometimes the factory will produce parts with the same casting number but a different part number because of the machining process afterwards.

I was hoping Duane would clock in. I know he's had a lot of experience with 904 etc pumps; even machining them to switch them around.

Is yours a non-lockup 904? The first pic is a non-lockup 904 with 2 balls which is normal. Lockup A999 has 3 balls.

Yes Mine is a Non Lockup 904. It's s mix of '68-'72 Bits With Lots of A&A Parts. All Self Built. Has lasted for Hundereds of passes over the years. All of the Pump Parts were stock. Inner / Outer Rotor (Failed) Front and Rear Pump Support. Obvisouly time for an upgrade here.

I thought possibly one of the balls gotten knocked around and had exited out of the hole with the Drive lugs rattling around in there.. as I never Had paid much attention to that area before.

Obviously I thought incorrectly.. Happens often.

Thank you for your help and Positive ID of the Parts.
Should get it slammed back in the car over the weekend, as the A&A Parts are being shipped!
