904 tailshaft seal problems

hey guys,

I ordered a TIMKEN 8935S tailshaft seal as it said it fit a 904 tranny. It's too small. Anyone know what other size seal they used? The online parts stores I looked at just showed that one.

what year is the transmission....there was a change around 1973 i believe.....

second link has dimensions for both seals...they show 72 as the change over year.

there's also an outfit that still makes them with the rubber dust boot on them , I got one from my local parts guy when I did mine .
