Can i drive without the kickdown cable attached. i know i will have to manualy shift but will it hurt the tranny

If it is like a 727 and I beleive that it is it will not last very long. In a 727 the kickdown controls your pressure. Without the kickdown your transmission is at idle pressure all the time!

I see I'm not needed here. :D

That's right guys.
If you tie it all the way back toward the rear of the car you will get some nasty late and hard shifts.
Tie it halfway back and just don't do wide open pulls and you should be ok.

ive actually been there. ive ran a couple 727s with no kickdown for long periods of time with it tied all the way back and never lost one.

All the way back doesn't hurt anything really, just shifts really late.
Gotta wind er up to get it to shift.
I always thought it would be interesting to have a floor shifter with a little chrome lever on it that pulled the TV linkage manually so I could select the delay of the shift points as I wanted.
It would shift normal, until you pulled the little lever to make the shift delay as much as you wanted.

A&A auto has locker throttle and kick down linkage you wont regret it.
