A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-
good one...but I'll be probably the second (right behind Jim) one to say ...Todds a buddy...fellow hot rodder....and yes..I think he'll have a Mopar someday...you know...when he grows up

Sorry Todd...I just couldn't resist....by the way......I love the color discription....PORNO RED....kinda fits

Awesome work....has to be the best 'high end' build I have seen, everything executed perfectly. Red on Silver a great colour combo too.

Denny, this Duster is absolutely beautiful, and PERFECT!!! I hope my Dart comes out half as nice as your build. Really like what you are doing. Can't wait to see it finished.

And I'm pretty sure there is NO WAY your getting traction with those tires in the MI snow...

maybe i'd better get some "mud and snows".....hope they make some big ones

Good to hear from you!

Denny

hey Todd...rear gear is 4:30....rear tire is appx 30" tall

Did you ever find any scales???

That'll be sweet with the 4.30's, tall tires and the OD. I run 4.56 rear gears in my truck with 28" tall tires, and a T56 with .50 OD ratio. It cruises 75mph at 2100 rpm - right at the sweet spot where the motor starts making power. It also gets 17 mpg HWY cruising like that.

I forgot about the scales. I will look into them, as I am curious myself. I'll check with a few racing buddies of mine.

Is there a scale to weigh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how much Todd wants a mopar????:naka::wave::toothy5:

'Tod' started with a '69 Charger when he was 17. 'Tod's' dad was big into GTO's, and kind of got me into the GM vehicles. The 'Chevy' truck came about when I was 20 years old, and it was about as close to a muscle car you could buy new back then (454\TH400\3.73 gears\etc). I'm no fan of Camaros, either. Now I've owned it for 20 years. I'm not really a 'Chevy' guy. I like many different cars from many different makes. Except Fords. Actually there are few Fords I would like to own, too, but Shhh...don't want anybody to know.

I've been a closet Mopar guy for many years. Actually I want to build a Charger next. '70 preferably, but a '68 or '69 will do. Gonna build what I want, and not worried about what anyone thinks - screw originality. At the very least it will have a 440 + 6 in it, but if I can swing the $$ to do a Hemi, I will, and of course a manual trans. I'll probably start with a 318 car with a smaller entry fee. No sense cutting up a 440 car or 383 car.

2 of my favorite cars in the world are a 1966 GTO, and a 1970 Charger. I got one of them, now I need the other. The GTO is just about where I want it. It may take me a few years, but there will be a Mopar in my garage in the future.

A local forum I'm on has alot of guys with 80's & 90's Muscle. Most of us have red interiors in our vehicles from that era (my truck has a two tone 'Carmine' red interior). Someone started the Porno Red and it stuck. Yours is a little brighter, but PORNO RED is still fitting.

Maybe this will clarify it. She wasn't the prettiest girl in the world, but certainly did not look like me :toothy9:

Bathroom...........

at Mayflower Moving Co in Irwin, he said accurate within 15 lb

3400 lbs on the nose
Well, that has a Dana 60 and the (aluminum) 426 Hemi.

Has anybody scaled a stock 340 Demon? I mean totally
stock with cast iron manifolds?

What is the difference between the Dana and an 8 3/4?

sorry Tod...I didn't have my readers on.....maybe thats why the cat is always avoidin' me

Dana 60s are not actually any more heavy then a 12 bolt or ford 9 inch. Its the big old drum brakes that really add weight.

I am getting a new Strange S60 I will weigh it for you guys.

need to compare it to the heavy duty truck Dana 60 w/an extra stiffing rib thats in the Demon...still it can't weight that much more.......but there certainly is more bulk w/ the Dana......and thats gotta weigh something

this things too nice. must be another trailer queen. i'll change my opinion when you bring it by the shop, and take me for a ride lol. seriously though, it's coming out awesome.

"the other"
