I have a 71 Duster and want to install bucket seats. I was told any Mopar seat that takes the hard plastic back like 70-71 models that the seat frame is the same across all models. The frames from a-b-e models that are all the same just the buns are different. Does anyone know this for a fact or are the a-model frames smaller or not the same as b-e seats. I dropped frames off and shop just called to tell me seats are not right for a-bodies.

70-71 have springs inside the back and 72 up are just foam with wires molded in. From what I have seen on the seats I've opened 70 and 71 are all the same 70 and 71 are the ones with the 2 piece back cover and hinge cover the bottom piece is cast and the top is plastic. 72 up is a one piece plastic back but other than that they look the same so it could be 72 seats and they lack the springs that the earlier ones have.

70 and 71 a body seats are the same as 70 b&e body seat frames.

I got it now the 70-71 seat backs have the springs on them and you can buy new buns for them. The 72 on up seat has the molded foam/wire together which are not available.
