a body rear end ? 8 3/4 vs dana 60

I used to believe that total BS too.... Trust me it makes ZERO difference and I have the cars to prove it in both variations. One just costs a shitload more than the other to accomplish.

Purple car was moved back 1.5" and the silver one has the stock wheelbase with modded quarters. Both cars have the same tires. 28x12.50's. They both run 11's, they both 60 ft the same.

I like both of ur cars, as I`ve said before. But, if ur running a 750 h.p. hemi in a heavy b body, u sure can tell when u change rear end placement. Just switching to the 002-003 s.s springs, from 3600 lbs s.s. springs made a lot of diff., as the 00 springs are 2" shorter in front than b body springs. Been there and done that ! Traction was always a problem in the hemi back then.

Thanks all. Probably do h.d springs and Caltracs on my a body with the truck Dana 60. No place to mount a snubber...

yes the dana 60 is big in that little space . doing a customer build with a dana 60 , with stock width and spring placement . making thing interesting . he desided on 11x2 1/2 brakes . backing plates are close to the shock plates and i needed to modify his sway bar brackets and shock plates do to that tight fit and the 5/8'' u bolts for the dana axle housing View attachment 1715157893 View attachment 1715157894 View attachment 1715157895 .
Where did you get your spring plates/shock mounts? Are they 3”? Nice job!
