I'm putting together a 2012 truck 5.7 for my 71 dart. Is there a way to remove the A/C and the PS? Belt length needed? Add an idler pulley?

The later cars had electric power steering, so they had a delete Idler from the factory. Shouldn't be hard to find a used one.. ebay maybe. I'm pretty sure that I'm running a Gates k060764 on Hoopty, which has both deleted.
edit.. I'm questioning the K060764... I have a picture and it's a K060770 in the picture. But I think I wasn't happy with it and wanted a little tighter. I'll have to dbl check that.

No idea on the truck. The car setup went to a bolt on bracket to replace the PS pump like @Dantra mentioned, but not sure if the belt spacing is the same.

Here is the bracket that bolts to the DS cylinder head and replaces the PS pump.

MOPAR 04593918AA Idler Pulley Bracket for 11-23 5.7L, 15-23 6.4L & 18-23 6.2L HEMI

Because of your alternator location, you are probably going to have to measure for a belt.

I know there was a guy that liked the truck TC covers and sawed the PS pump mount off, but he was working with the earlier pre-Eagle stuff so not sure how applicable that is. Trying to find the thread but haven't found it yet.

Hoopty.. As edited, I'll dbl check. And yes, if you're running a truck timing cover, none of this will apply

@68cuda408 is the guy that was using the early truck covers and no PS/AC. No idea if he could help or not though. Didn't find the thread I was looking for either.

I ran a truck cover with no PS or A/C, but it's a 2006, so guessing it's not that useful. There was a mounting boss on the cover that was already threaded that I just put an extra idler on with some washers to space it right and then measured up a belt myself. I know I gave up some pulley wrap going that way, but it worked fine for me for years. Not sure how the 2009+ stuff compares though.

Thanks for the thought, buuuut, my engines are pre VVT so my timing covers are not applicable to a 2012 engine. As of now I only use 6.1 and truck 5.7 blocks (pre VVT). It made no sense to me to use VVT blocks and "lock" the cams. Even with some cam designs that are supposed to eliminate the "lockout" requirement it doesn't make financial sense. Until someone besides Holley comes out with a VVT supported system I'll stick with a standard cam and timing gear setup and 6.4 BGE heads. That being said if anyone wants to use the pre VVT block and wants the skinny on a modified truck cover with no p/s or a/c with a cs130 alternator pm me.

I wasn't sure if what you had done would translate. And I agree if you are going to lock the cam why worry about a VVT setup, unless you want a 6.4 or something.

Wicked cool setup.
