A/c door not closing

As the title states when I push the A/C button the door does not close to direct the air the right way. The rod that activates the door moves freely so I think it is a vacuum issue. Any tips on checking it out would be great. 1972 Scamp /6

Ok I have narrowed it down to the acuator that controls the A/C door. Where do I get one?

Nobody? Do these not go bad? Somebody has to know where to get one don't they?

Don't know, but similar vacuum actuators were used on many cars, so maybe something universal out there, or ones that can be mod'ed. My 80's M-B's have them.

Thanks I saw one on Ebay that might work if I mod the rod that is on it. Anyone else got ideas?
