I have a 1974 Plymouth duster i am rebuilding a stock la 360 for. Its gunna be pretty much stock except the intake manifold and carb. I was wondering what was the most extreme cam i could run with the stock compression and torque converter. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Stock tire size?
What is the gear ratio?

Just me, But I have had good results with the RV Cam shaft' back in the day.
it will handle a good 318 4 barrel intake and adds TQ. and HP. using the original size valve springs.... But that just me driving daily with med grade pumped gas.

Hughes Whiplash cams are designed for stock compression engines.

It most likely has the 3.21 gear, If you want a rumbly type cam, I'd look into the whiplash cams from Hughes, they are designed for low compression/stock compression engines, But you need to drop in a converter that work good with the cam, A (good quality) 26-2800 11" will do great & still be very street friendly, Headers wouldn't hurt either.

Comp Cams XE262H

It's enuff cam to run into the 14's.
