A reason we are free today

What a day, so much bravery and sacrifice. Are any of those brave men amongst our members?

Hilter spent a long time, a lot of money, a massive amount of building materials, and killed and injured a hell of a lot of slave labor building his "Atlantic Wall" and the Allies came along and broke it down in one day............"The Longest Day"

To think that little country ,built in silence under the Versailles treaty... They almost owned the world. If Pearl Harbor would not have happened,we would have been neutral, until the worst happened.

If you can find a WWII Vet, get him to tell a story or two. Then thank him for all him has done. I'm am lucky enough to work at the museum with Mitch. He will turn 91 this summer. He was a waist gunner on a B-17 during WWII. He stayed in and went into maintenance. Served in Korea and SE Asia. Retired in 1973. Still very active and willing to talk a little about WWII.
By the way, if you can read thank a teacher. If you can read English thank a WWII Vet. Honor a Vet in some way this week.
Please understand I look at this a little differently than some. My Mom, Dad, Aunt, Uncle, and Father in law all served in WWII. I was in the Navy.

PBS has been doing programs relating to WWII and D - day. The interviewed a guy, 93 years, I think, who parachuted in ahead of the main forces on D - day. He intends to go parachute into France AGAIN at 93!!!
