A tale of battery cables

-
Being a cheap bastard, I took the battery cables from a Dodge Magnum V-8 (or Jeep GC, forget), while picking other parts (starter, etc). The battery post clamps are like photo of post 1, which does seem to last longer than lead ones. The starter cable was too long for my 65 Dart (V-8), but I haven't been motivated to cut and re-terminate.

The Magnum alternator cable runs across the small block timing cover, which I did. One could simply terminate it at BATT+ for the "MAD Bypass". I terminate at a custom parallel-diode which routes the current thru the dash ammeter until the forward drop is reached when it begins flowing to BATT+ (~0.7V @ 50 A).
