Hi

I am going to swap my 904 to a500 to my 72 318 duster.
A500 is coming from 91 dodge van with 318.

I know that i need to cut crossmember and fabricate new transmission mounts.
thats not the broblem, or shortening driveshaft, i have done it already once with my rear swap.

But i like to know do i need anything else from that van for the transmission swap, i am now getting transmission and torque conventer.

My old flex plate should work with a500 trans?
but anything else i need to get from that van?

I'm not sure about the flexplate. The older flexplates only bolted on one way, IE asymmetrical bolt pattern. At some point the newer bolt patterns changes. I've read some guys just elongate the "odd" hole.

You might want to grab the front yoke even if you don't need it. They're handy for a "plug"

Cooler lines, IIRC the A500 has larger fittings. You want to grab the "OD OFF" button and as much of the the transmission wiring harness as you can.

thanks for the info.

well i must check that flex plate, will my own fit.

so how that OD will engage in 91 van is it automatic in certain speeds or do you activate it and off button is just for if you dont want OD to engage.
