I would like to know if I can use any a833 in my 68 dart gts 340 or do I have to find one from an A body only. I want to change from the 727 auto

You can use the A body a833 or a E B body and make an adapter plate to bolt onto the E body pad so it puts the shifter in the a body location

You can also use one from the later F bodies if you don't mind the OD trans.

If ya never done this before, (assuming w/1 post you are a newbie), buy a trans for an A-body, 67 - 72 year.
