Goodmorning all , I have a question, I have a lock up a904 and recently broke the snout part of the torque converter that turns the pump, im guessing it was cracked and broke off into the pump drive gear, COULD I use a non lock up converter on it as long as its the same number of splines? I know the input shaft has a shoulder on the front that goes into a pilot bushing in the converter but I need to get this transmission working again and its xmas eve so I cant get anything atm , thanks for any replies and merry xmas!

ps, its for an 87 dodge truck 318

Lockups are 26 spline only so the only non lockup that would fit it is a custom "race" non lockup converter made to go on a lockup shaft.
Turbo Action shows one, or I would think any converter shop could build you one. But it's not something you are going to find "lying around".
