I have a 72 dart swinger w/ a 318/904. Just bought a 833. Wondering If I need to cut my driveshaft to different length.

Also, is there a different crossmember or mount needed?
Thanks a million.

The d/s will need to be modified, don't remember if its longer or shorter. Someone will chime in on the length. The yoke will be different too from the 904 to the 833 (833 and 727 use the same yoke).

Trans x-members are the same.

Driveshaft is the same length. Crossmember is the same. The only difference might be the yoke. They can be either you will have to check your 833 to see if it takes the large or small slip joint.

If it's a '66-7 A-body 833, the yoke will be the same.....If it's the '68-up A-body version, you'll need the 30 spline yoke. Your current crossmember and mount will work with it. The driveshaft should be close enough to work.

If you have an 8 3/4 rear the driveshaft length should be right about 52" center to center on the u joints.
