Where exactly does this clip go? Clip 14-01-8 . What does it do, it was hanging on the shaft when I disassembled the assy. for blast and paint. Really wasn't doing anything, I believe that whoever assembled it the last time didn't know either. Hope the photo loads.

It holds the cable to the bracket. If you don't have the clip then the throttle cable is going to move around and maybe pull out.

If the pictures load, look closely, plastic plug stops any departure for the ball. C- clip holds the cable end through a grommet in firewall bracket. May have to look another car up to solve this problem .

14-01-8 goes over the shaft of the accelerator pedal pivot and will line up with a hole on the bracket that bolts to the firewall.

Sorry, but I just do not see it. Going to try and get another picture. You mean to clip it over this part of the shaft in front of this hole?

Ok, there are 3 possible ways for that clip to attach to the hole. Here are the pictures. Which one do you like? You have good computer skills, I only have my phone. Thank you for your help.!

Ok John, got it! Can't really tell that it does something, on or off. Do you know? Does not seem to have much friction.

Ok. Think it may have been over engineered. I thank you so much for helping me out with this! It may have been in properly when I took it apart. It just did not seem correct to me. It's together now.
Thank you again
Greg

I never could figure out the purpose of it. Seems a bit weak to provide any tension .
Its like a random part they tossed in !
