I replaced the Carter BBD carb on my 1967 Barracuda 273 with a Holley model 2280, specifcally, R-7890. The car has run much better since I did that many years ago. I rebuilt the Holley Spring of 2018, new kit and new (made in Taiwan) floats. Earlier this week, the carb suddenly began to leak gas and flood the engine. Just got done replacing the floats and fuel inlet valve. Somewhere either before I removed the carb or while I was taking the carb apart, the link to the accelerator pump fell out. It's a squared-off "U" shape with a head on one end. What a nuisance it is to replace that link!
Thre are two directions to install the link- head facing the front of the carb or facing the rear. Doesn't appear to make a difference, but does anyone know differently? I re-installed it with the head facing the front of the carb- seemed to be the easier way to get the job done.
Car runs very well right now!
