I installed a spankin new AVS2 1913 and RPM manifold on my car today. I wanted to bolt on and go, but decided to open it up to check floats. I found one float way high. Float drop came in good after adjusting the height. Probably saved myself a clean up. I set the accelerator pump on mid range, came at full squirt.
The rest of the carb is excellent, really clean. Hope to fire it up tomorrow and get the preliminary settings done. Changed from a TQ super quad to the 1913. I couldn't make the TQ play happy.

Pretty easy to get janked up in shipping. Keep us posted.

In my limited Edelbrock carb experience, every single one I’ve touched had to have the floats set properly.

Good that you checked it out snd fixed it before there was an issue. No plans soon to install mine but I should pull the air horn and have a look see inside.

I think that when they are shipped = they pay kick ball
with them. I set the floats properly and they still are way off
when the guys put them on their car. I do not like to sell carbs
anymore if they have to be shipped. I have had to buy too many
back and eat the shipping both ways for a 5 minute fix.

I purchased my TQ 9800 from you quite a while back. I couldn't make it work, but not the carb's fault lol. I put a full kit in it after receiving from you, but just couldn't keep it off the T slots enough to use ported vacuum. I swapped a 1406 in temporarily and it worked perfectly for idles and mixtures. The 9800 I have is still an excellent condition carb, very tight and clean. Not asking for a buyback lol.

if its a modern Edelbrock i think they are made in spain, the body will probably have a weber logo on it somewhere.... i.e they have potentially been shipped a long way before they are shipped to the end user.

Cast in the side of the body is Made in USA, but we know how that goes.

Fired off one pump, I set idles and mixtures in about 5 minutes after warmed up. Loving it so far. Can't wait to drive it and see how it does. As for now it doesn't bog or stumble when tipping in.

900 RPM, 16" vacuum, 13° initial, 34° all in @ 5k. Drops to 850 in drive.
Time to schedule the exhaust install so I can drive the dog stuff outta it.:steering:
