Ace Frehley

I just found out. I was the biggest KISS freak ever, I missed out on a lot of good music 'cause of them, I would only listen to KISS for a long time. I remember my mom buying me my very first "rock" album, Kiss Alive, she tried to talk me out of it and to buy a Bay City Rollers album, but I had to have the one with the painted up guys!! Best purchase ever!!
Saw them in 1978 was I was only 13, (second row right in front of Ace)full makeup/original members, Cheap Trick opened up for them, best show Ive ever seen in my life. Even had Robin Zander's autograph on my tour book, too bad I lost it....dang. Still have my original ticket stub for it though.
And too bad Simmons and Stanley had to be such colossal asshats, they really spoiled the band for me as I grew up and learned what dicks they are.
Ace, you helped shape my musical tastes for a lifetime, and I thank you for that, you are a guitar god.
Rest in peace Spaceman.

Just heard a little while ago when it flashed across the bottom of the screen.

I really liked their music. Still listen to it.

RIP Ace. Too young.

Rest in Peace Ace.

Damn! Another one gone too soon!

Back in the New York groove is one of my favorite songs, Ace was grossly underrated as a guitarist and songwriter, largely because of Gene Simmons and his bullshit attitude. When the original members of Kiss each released a solo album, Ace's record far outsold the other three.

Russ Ballard (I hear Voices) wrote "New York Groove".
He also wrote "God Gave Rock and Roll to You".

Ace was an original.

RIP Space Ace.

Buddy in public school introduced me to them with their Kiss Alive II album, the cover "got" me with all the "blood".
Genes arrogance is beyond measurable lol.
Thanks and RIP Ace.

Saw Ace during his solo career ( with White Lion and Y&T) and do have some vinyl! Saw KISS with and without makeup. Good times and Ace was truly a one of a kind!
