It depends on where its at now, was it advanced when installed, if so, by how much, i'd say if it wasn't, then ya it should help on the bottom end, I advanced my cam on my 451 4* & it ran the same, so that told me the combo was at its limit or it could have used more cam, don't really know though, all you can do is try it & see.
