Hell Yes... Generally, the more expensive the convertor, the more accurate the ratings will be and the faster the combination, the more accurate the ratings will be. You have to realize how many factors influence the stall speed. It's a very hard thing to do to get them right on, and generally, if you have a 10.5 or 11" an it's exaactly what you wanted, it's lucky on your part. Once you get to the 9.5" (listed and 10" in catalogs) the stall speeds are closer to what you expect, but your altitude, engine combination, tune up, car weight, and gearing will all alter the stall speeds in one way or another. Also be aware that there are two stalls: brake stall, which is the vehicle held still by the brakes and the engine floored, and the flash stall, which is the more accurate one but requires the vehicle to be in 3rd gear (direct) and floored (or as much throttle as you can without having it downshift...) going about 25mph. I'll also add that most tachs are not 100% accurate. Especially factory ones even when they are driven by the MSD adaptor or whatever.
