I will be taking my 8 1/4 to a local shop to install new 321's. He says he wants the axles out of the rear. Is this easy to do, and what do I have to know when I take them out and more importantly put back in with fresh gears? I dont want to hurt anything. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

cake walk remove back cover ,drain grease , 1/4 or 5/16 to remove bolt in shaft between spider gears , slide pin out far enough to push axles in to remove c clips, pull axles out . i dont why he's concern with you pulling the axles though . when i do them just bring gears bearing, shims, seals, see you in the morning an 200$

I have a almost complete 8 1/4 rear.Broke one axel.I just had 4.10 gears installed it,s a sure-grip center,also have the 3.21 gears for sale.If interested pm me ??Oh ya BBP.
