Aftermarket alternator mounting bracket for 1970 340

-
Well, i wasn't specifically referring to them, the spacer and bolts they sell are kinda cool, my deal is Mixing the Pulleys AND brackets off my ol 66 273, to a 73 340 (converted to Steel Crank) I have No overheating issues, but that damn Alternator Alignment required me to mill a spacer down... But, Again, mismatched Year parts... from what I read. And the fact that the 66 to 73 was an AC engine... the three grooves are probably heavier than I need, ( I wanted to get to CVS set up, but I didn't jump on em when I Should have) but they Work Darn Good!
I just learned today, from old notes I had made regarding my pully set, they are from pre 70 model. Here we go again. Dip into the till of money for more parts. Was proceeding with post 70 setup because engine is a 70 model with timing mark on driver side. Only stumbled across notes looking for something else. I'm also running ATI damper assuming pully placement would be stock. I may be milling spacer as well before it's done.

Yeah, a mismatch is a pain obviously. The ATI damper may be an issue for spacing also. I just realized the TrickFlow balancer I bought is waaayy thicker than stock. I'm looking for a quality stock replacement for 67 style setup...good luck!

It's good to get a chuckle out of this before it's all over. It get's worse. I may have pully set for pre 70 thus I need different alternator bracket set. Will have to go through this all over again.
Oh Man,,, I had Several 318s hanging out, one w/ a triangle Alt tensioner/ mount... I ended up going with the one long banana shaped one( thinkn off the 273) it's been So Long, and, well, kinda Frankensteined) I Caint Remember. I do know once I got everything straight with the crap I had laying around, other than having to buy a different bolt kit, from Pro Kits, I've had No issues, Except: I think, cause the Pulleys are from the 66 273 a/c mill, the way I have em ran, requires an odd, non factory belt. The good thing is I have a belt from the crank to the alternator to the water pump and I've got another belt from the crank to the power steering to the water pump

Eventually we all get there. Glad to see you made it. Persistence pays off. Some people have more of it than others. Nothing like looking at misaligned fan belts on a 50K+ car.

My car is a 68 Barracuda notchback. /6 with 4 speed OD. 4 speed was added by previous owner. Building 340 in my house for it. Having troubles with pulley alignment now. Crankshaft and water pump off by 1/4 inch. Not sure which one is wrong for my application.

Post the depth of your pulleys. Cast or alum w/p? Cast one is 2 1/4 approximately. Alum is 3 in. About the same depth on the crank if u have a p/s 2 grove pulley. Kim

Crankshaft belt center to damper face is 2 inches. Water pump is cast alum. WP pully extends out past damper by 1/4 inch.

Well I put the ATI damper on only because someone commented they had to grind the timing mark off the timing cover. The gods of speed were smiling on me. It's close though. This narrowed my pully alignment issue down to about 1/8 inch. I recall seeing a shim of that thickness somewhere last night. Think it was Mancini.
