Anybody out there using an aftermarket heater that DOES NOT use the coolant from the motor as in ELECTRIC HEATER? And No not looking to use mopars rear defroster unit.

I will not be using my factory heater but DO want something to defrost the windshield and my toes on a chilly ride to a car show

Not finding much out there and that surprises me the street rodders usually have everything

Can't see how they would work good enough.

power (watts) = amps * volts

so in a house a 900 watt heater = 110 volts * amps so your amps are bout 8A

what do you think a 900 watt heater will run for amps if you have only 12 volts? hint get your calc.

just get heater hoses they dont look that damn bad do they?

Well put. I was going to use the 1200 watt hair dryer comparison. Were talking 100 amps and the heater would have to be fed with battery cables. lol

Thanks grumpuscreature if I do go that route that's just what I was looking for.

24, 36, or 48 volts. Extra battery (batteries) and a special alternator capable of higher voltage and extra wiring, switches and relays. tmm
