Aftermarket Heads for 73 340

I am thinking about upgrading from my factory heads for a little street power.
I do not race much and if I do its only for fun.
So I am torn between the edelbrock 318,340,360, the edelbrock 340, the iron heads from indy, mopar aluminum heads or finding a nice set of redone x or j heads. They all really seem close in price..
This combo will have a mild cam, edelbrock intake and headers...
Please share pros and cons keeping in mind I am looking for a bolt on upgrade my motor runs fine so I am not looking to rebuild or touch the bottom end.
Also is this something I should attempt in my garage or take to a pro? Im handy but a very novice mechanic..

RHS X heads is probably the best choice dollar for dollar.
 
Like he said RHS heads would be the best bang for the buck. Though when I changed heads, I opted for aluminum closed chamber eddy heads (60779). You also need to know if your running dome pistons.
