I am re-installing the AC in my Dart, I am going with the original evaporator, sanden compressor, expansion valve, and new hoses. Unfortunately my original condenser is damaged and I was thinking of going with a newer style parallel flow unit. I am wondering what size would be appropriate to replace the original 23"x16" unit and what others have used that worked well.

That's kinda what I was thinking, something around original size that I could use the same mounting holes. R134 isn't quite as efficiant and I will have an expansion valve to help with any potential mismatch

On my 66 I did a Vintage air condensing unit. Worked well but had to use custom lines in and out.

Go as big as you want but if there is sheet metal behind it- it is wasted space. Size it to your opening.

Don't just dive into anything give it some thought. With some engineering you can make anything work. Why clutter up the engine compartment? What if one day you need the room for more Cubic inches.
