I think I've heard people talking about it and even other people ask about it, but does anyone have a picture of a small block with a AC compressor that's mounted in the typical power steering location?.. (bottom driver side) I've searched the internet and haven't seen anything..
except for of course that hideous top location which ain't happening on my car..
Or just going to be another J par invention thats going to get buried in the archives LOL...
Thank you for anyone's help or experience...

I think I seen pictures of it on his restoration... It looks like he has power steering and it's even below that. I don't think I need to go that low with it I don't have power steering so I was thinking of kind of putting it there.. I already had ideas of using the same two long bolts from the water pump that the alternator does on the other side...

looks pretty close to where the PS pump would normaly hang but you can do a power steering pump too if you want. he designed it so it can be mounted with out PS also. probably going make them available once he finalizes everything, but i'm all for some one making their own

I dont know who makes this but I don't see anything hideous about it. Compressors clutch stays high and dry. a/c lines over here where they belong. Small enough alternator might keep the battery tray. A small p/s pump with remote reservoir might fit beneath the alternator too.

Well it may be a little bit, but I'll have to post back here and show my results....
I'm still not really seeing what I want anywhere on the internet...

Ill try to find the bracket i bought to locate the compressor on the passenger side down low on my 383. It might give you ideas. The only thing the seller said was if I was running a high output alternator, I would experience "A scream from hell". I presume that means his design has limited belt contact with the pulley. I have no plans for stereo and have crackedback's headlight relay kit to minimize said scream.

always enjoy me a Jpar post.

I have two grooves in my drive pulley and use the inside groove for the water pump and alternator. My idea was to use the outer groove for the compressor down in the power steering area as I have no power steering. Also being on the outer power groove I could take the belt off and on for dragstrip purposes..
