What am I missing? I’m guessing it’s a spacer. Trying to put my alternator on this afternoon. Hey no luck.

There is a spacer that goes between the two ears on the party you are not showing us. What you have exposed is the bottom. The tensioner bolts to the ear that is up with I think a 5/16 bolt (could be wrong been awhile)

If it helps, mine is a single belt.
Two spacers for swivel bolt and a split spacer in between, pressed into the rear alt ear.....
a third spacer is behind the tension adjust bracket...........
