aluminum block?

Thanks. Doesn't come w/ a head gasket and those are "not avail", other than a special run made years ago for a group on slant six.org. At least you see that the top of the block isn't corroded beyond use like most alum slants. One thing about the alum block is you can easily identify it even in poor craigslist photos. I saw a car recently on craigslist where you could tell it had an alum block that the poster didn't mention.
 
The aluminum-block head gasket is not impossible to get hold of. It costs money and you have to go to one of the gasket specialists (Gerald Letieri, Olson's Gaskets, etc).

Max overbore on an aluminum block is 0.040".
