Amazon oil pan - will this fit B/RB in an A-body

It may fit , but I think the Idler arm may not clear the pan. I hear this is the pan to use for an A body Big Block

Hello all - the listing doesn't say for what body type. Does anyone have experience using this pan on an A-body?

Thanks in advance

Amazon.com: 1967-87 Compatible/Replacement for Chrysler/Mopar Big Block 361-383-400-413-440 HEMI 426 Oil PAN - ZINC : Automotive

Ad says it's the 6 qt E / Bbody pan. The front won't fit the Abody BB k-member w/o notching the k. No clearance notch for the center link/idler arm end.

FWIW, just my take from experience........
Some here have posted CL/idler issues with the 187 depending on fore/aft engine location it appears. Search for the threads.

A 402 it will be tight on the driver side bucket corner and the center link/idler will at least scrape the pan bottom............like mine does.

A 971 will go in but will limit your right turn solidly as you wear a hole in the pan side.

This pan or the same found elsewhere may be what ya' really want.............

It might fit, but only if you run the '73-76 steering parts. I have a B-body baffled pan in my '67 Barracuda with '73 steering parts. I have lots of clearance. BUT, even if you run the "correct" pan you will likely have to massage it to clear the early ('67-72) idler arm.

So since I can return the Amazon pan for free I got it and tried it out.

I have a 383 in a '72 Duster. The K-frame is for a small block and I have the typical engine mounts to convert a B/RB into a SB K-frame.

The front of the pan (the curved part) just bumps into the K-frame. A little clearance could make it work.

The pan would need a dent for the drag-link to clear.

Both pans weight 5.5 pounds so they are made from the same thinkness steel.

The black pan is from Source and the "gold" pan is from Amazon.

The Amazon pan would likely work fine with '73-up steering parts. I have a B-body baffled pan in my '67 Barracuda with late steering. No clearance issues at all.
