Amp gauge or volt gauge that is the question?

I'm thinking of having my amp meter converted to a volt meter for my 72 demon by red line gauges. I was just wondering if I should or leave the amp gauge stock. All advice is greatly appreciated.

The entire reason to convert to a voltmeter is because the factory ammeter wiring is deficient. Read this article on the whys:

The problem is compounded by modern large alternators, and added heavy loads like great big stereo systems, electric fans, etc.

How I see it... Any gauge is supposed to be a reporter, like a news reporter. It shouldn't be able to end the story. The ALT' gauge, by design, is equal to Clark Kent in my mind for it, like Siperman, can stop a car, end the story.
When a volt gauge fails, the charging system/story carries on.
Kind of krazy ?
