Hi guys, bought my wife a 72 dart 2 door coupe swinger clone. Bought it so she doesn't ask me to drive my big block coronet with manual steering and brakes anymore. Also because we lost her mother a year and a half ago to cancer and her mother used to always talk about the swinger she had, it was her favourite car, so its a tribute car.

It's original 6 cyl car, converted to v8 with 1980 318 factory 4 barrel engine installed with headers and nice dual exhaust with flow thru mufflers. I believe these engines have the 360 heads and intake so I'm going to use it and see how it will run with a new cam, lifters and timing chain. Justed changed the starter and got the car running but the timing chain is shot needs changing ASAP. It also has really nice interior looks to be from an ebody with the console and slap stick shifter. Interior ony needs a dash pad. Car has fiberglass fenders, swinger hood scoops and new kyb shocks in the front, new leafs in the back.

the bad: Frame rot in a few areas kenstiens and was repaired by Frankenstein. Will need replacement rails in the future which I'm up for the task as I have a 120v mig that works alright.

This is gunna be a driver for now. First thing is to get all the mechanical bugs out, including replaceing the piss poor wiring, new brake lines. Im gunna install a .480 lift / .284 adv degree summit cam with lifters soon.
I have 2 intakes to choose from. The factory 1980 360 4 barrel intake or a torker 340 single plane intake. Which one should I use? Going to stick with the thermoquad until it dies then replace it with a holley. Rather have the same carb on both my cars. After I have the frame aoo repaired I'll bug her dad to paint it since he's a bodyman.

Cool find ! My first car was a '72 Swinger (LH23G2B307811) and it was factory EV2 Hemi Orange .

A single-plane intake is a high RPM piece , something I doubt your Dart will see (especially with freeway gearing and the such ).
For now , IMO , stick with the stock iron intake , and fab some blockoffs for the EGR and whatnot .

Have fun :burnout:

Thanks for input, I'm going to stick with the factory intake until I find a real good deal on an ld340 or air gap. Tire all of a sudden went low, filled it today, valve is leaking. Moved the valve around and now holding air. Will need new tires in the spring and I don't like these rims at all. Probably go to rally's and new bf g's.
