i'm not sure, what's the difference? Are they the new updated ones or the old style?
the cresta got sold to make some room here so this may well be going into my 58 nash rambler gasser. either this or the 360 fe ford that i've just bought a 390 crank', rods and pistons for to make it a 390. i've already adapted a late 4r70w o/d trans for the fe too. whichever is left over will go into a cheap drag car build for our ash and me to use at the local track. This looks like a cool project! It reminds me of a 63 Valiant a little.
Oh and get ready for the 318 hating a$$holes. They're comin.

Sounds like a fun project regardless of power.the cresta got sold to make some room here so this may well be going into my 58 nash rambler gasser. either this or the 360 fe ford that i've just bought a 390 crank', rods and pistons for to make it a 390. i've already adapted a late 4r70w o/d trans for the fe too. whichever is left over will go into a cheap drag car build for our ash and me to use at the local track.

ps bring on the 318 haters, i've got my big boy pants on![]()
it seems they're the older ones as the part that'll be closest to the retainer is curved, whereas the 'new' ones are flatter/straighter which would give more retainer clearance. i'm not worried as they were only £375 ($505) posted and are new in the box. the guy offered them up to the j heads i'll be using that i also bought from him and everything cleared so it should be fine. i could always swap to beehive springs and retainers if needed but hopefully not.Going by the pics he posted of the new and old version, it was easily detectable which were which.
Iirc, the old style had the 2 piece bushings and the new ones had the one piece styleit seems they're the older ones as the part that'll be closest to the retainer is curved, whereas the 'new' ones are flatter/straighter which would give more retainer clearance. i'm not worried as they were only £375 ($505) posted and are new in the box. the guy offered them up to the j heads i'll be using that i also bought from him and everything cleared so it should be fine. i could always swap to beehive springs and retainers if needed but hopefully not.

, they have the 2 piece bushings so that confirms it. i'm still happy so it's all good. it'll be a mostly street driven car with ac, leather seats, nice carpet etc. it will see occasional strip time but we're (our ashley and me) looking to build a cheap (lolIirc, the old style had the 2 piece bushings and the new ones had the one piece style
