Just picking brains on brand. So muchinfo out there. This ones bad. This ones good. I need my mopar guys to give me some ideas. Looking at ultimate or ptc. Im on a budget but i put the money where it needs to be. Converter is one of those places imo. Mostly street car with a little racing mixed in. Thanks in advance

I don't even know if they still make them, but years ago, before I converted to a 4 speed, I bought a Mopar Performance converter. My 340 had a medium cam in it, and with the stock converter it fell on its face at every stop. I think the converter was 2400 or 2500 stall. The price was very reasonable, and it mad all the difference in the world

Check out Turbo Action -http://www.turboaction.com/frame.html - their tech is very good and will guide you to the right unit. I called them a few weeks ago and after just 10min. on the phone, they had me pointed in the right direction. A+!
Food for thought - I took out a TA converter that had been in my car for the better part of 10 years - a 5300 stall unit that saw a lot of racing.. the ONLY reason I changed it is that I wanted something a bit tamer for the street.

There are a couple of questions I'd ask a supplier: warranty and restall(if needed) will there be a charge.
Whomever you chose, be 100% honest with them when you answer the questions they will be asking you. BS them and the converter will be wrong for sure.

I do like the idea of being able to restall. This is one reason i dont want an off the shelf converter. The car will probly go thru lots of changes

Lenny @ Ultimate knows his stuff give him a call I"ve been using his converter for 7 seasons(an lots of guys at the track too) I have 1 restall, should be sending it back to him for more stall speed soon..
