Another Mopar Off My Bucket List - Barracuda Fastback

-
Hey,Mopar Momzee, we waited years to get a block from Ken Black and kept getting told there were issues with the tooling for them. Spence was insistent that he have an actual KEITH BLACK Hemi so he was patient. Did you have a l-o-o-o-ng wait for yours? I know the bare block ran us over $5,000. I can't remember who did the head work. They were Ray Barton but I think Banning might have reworked them.

I may not be from Canada but......

Was trying to pm u yes to all your questions, but Tim asked another customer you was not ready to receive there block if they wouldn’t mind selling it they agreed. Otherwise i would have had to wait 6 months or more. My aviator is the motor in question. Tim put the total at half price if he was to put it as HP motor he said they mite hold it at customs.

I just talked to Spencer. He said that Tim had figured out a way to cut the cost on the Canadian import fees/taxes for us. (I think it was after he'd shipped you yours)
Spence had already sent the heads, valve covers, headers, ignition box, harmonic balancer, and other parts to them. When they shipped back the completed engine it was labeled as 'REPAIR WORK' instead of new motor. Apparently our exchange of parts made it possible to re-categorize it and we saved a bundle. - of course, we'd already spent a crapload sending him the parts to begin with.

Hey Momzee, Spence just moved to a little over an hour away from you if you're in Vacaville. Placerville, California

Yep i pass through every Friday heading up to navada highway 50. I’m building a shop trying to get it complete. Then ill take it all up there as I’m passing through with the cars i could stop by hopefully couple months. How long will he be there?

Spence isn't living in the house he bought yet. The company is providing him with 2 months free hotel (including meals) so he won't be moving for another month. I'm not sure exactly where the hotel is. The only Mopar he's got with him right now is the Challenger. Here's a few photos of his house though.

I assume he'll be living there for at least a few years. Spence said he'd love to have you stop in once he settles in.

I keep getting side-tracked away from finishing my shop and getting back to work on cars again. Due to the economy and material shortages everywhere it took me a long time to finish the signs for that weld shop. I had to make a few changes to my original planned design.

Most of this week has been taken up with making arrangements to get Spence a new toy. Apparently the cost of fuel in California convinced him to start driving on less wheels. 10 hours on the road yesterday and I got it hauled from Kansas to Nebraska.

Now I need to figure out how to put it back together. The previous owner had done some sketchy rewiring for the sidecar that needs redone properly. I know about as much about bikes as I do about brain surgery so I'll get some of my biker buddies to lend a hand. We'll make sure it's problem free before it makes it's coming journey to the left coast.

Hopefully it'll look like this again once we're done.

Next, Spence needs to buy a pair of doggie goggles for his German Shepherd.

Hey man, never trailer a bike with the kick-stand down.

Thanks for the info sireland. - Like I said, I'm dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to bikes. If we have it trailered to California I'll make sure we put it up.
