i went 7.40 with a little less cam and more carb, less compression...i just didnt work with my chassis to make the car hook and work like it should have..my car would pull the wheels about 5/6" and set them down and spin with a 1.67 60' time...heads where close to yours also..
if all works right you should run low 7/0's high 90's i would think...
but i think you may need more carb.. i had a 950 and my 340 loved it..lol and small comp 282xs cam 520/540 lift with crane gold rockers...70 duster all steel just no back seat..car has ran the same with and with out the back seat so it didnt lose anything by having it out :prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer:eek:h also i drove my car on the street qtp on it..not alot but did..:D

I was shooting for a low 12's high 11's
I agree I need more carb.
Once I get comfortable and consistent
I was planning on bumping in carb size

I went best of 12.03 with [email protected] with less engine in my old 71 dart in the 1/4 m. So i can not see why it would not do better then that. 11's some thing.

First off, i don't want to offend SBDart. I posted on his thread too. His car is gonna make serious torque with his heads and the 4" arm. Just not sure if his tires can handle it and may be just a little over geared.

With that said, i think you'll be a little faster at this point. #1 you're on slicks. #2 you're gear is a little more appropriate for the short stroke. So i'm gonna guess 11.30 @ 119.0

750 dp perfect size for 340...run probably between 11.50 and 11.70s...115-113mph.

The motor dyno'd at 408 horse
402 f lbs of torque

Guess i need to rethink then :D. That's only 1.2hp per cube. Torque's not bad, but with that compression, cam and intake i really was thinking closer to 450 hp. What rpm was your HP/TQ peaks?

That was with the carb it's with now and the smaller
Tubing headers
With a 850 carb and larger headers
(that I don't have)
It was closer to 440 horse and 415 lbs of torque
Did not have a chance to try a larger carb
Curious to see what a 950 would have done.
These are conservative numbers without using fresh water
Source to increase the numbers
A lot of time machine shop dynos are a little
High to make themselves look good
I was happy with what I got for power
With the money I have in it.
I wish I could have spent a little more time
Playing on the Dyno
I have a m1 intake I wanted to try with both carbs
But that did not happen.

Peak torque was around 4800/4900
Peak horse was around 7100/7200

Nice spread,on the peaks. Mid 11's,buck fifteen+traps, with no traction issues.

Ok so i'm gonna scale back just a bit.... 11.45 @ 117.5. The weather should be cooling down soon in your area and that may help some. Thanks for the numbers. I knew you would have to spin it pretty good and your range, like "bomber" said, looks just about right. Good luck and be safe and have fun:thumblef:.

Thanks guys
I appreciate the wisdom
I don't plan pounding it to hard first few times
Out.
Just want to make sure everything is ok first

What are your thoughts about the M1
Intake over the victor 340?
