Glad you posted pictures. I would not have known what you were talkin about.

one thing that allways impressed me is how "old" the cars are they use

That's because there are not many rear wheel drive cars made anymore.

on TV is one thing, live 2 feet off the track is another! Loud and dirty, I was covered in "marbles" (tire shavings) after this shoot. I was shooting just over the cement barrier through a hole in the fence 20 feet closer than any crowd could get. Lots of 240SX's, new Mustangs, a supercharged Viper, and 350Z platforms as well as Hyundai Genesis'. Interesting to say the least. Nothing but style points! The big boys show up LB Grand prix evenings, Most are LSx powered (N/A and supercharged) as well as big turbo 4 and 6 motors in more modern RWD chassis, ie; Camaro, 370Z and BMW's. A few smaller RX-8's too. Draws a huge young crowd contrasting to the older GP crowd of the day.

I'm starting to get more involved at my local drift track. It's honestly so much fun. The first drift car I was in was a Nissan 180sx with a turbocharged 1UZ (Toyota v8) with a 250 shot on it. The car weighed 2600 pounds...
