Are you jumping from orange to brown wire. Is brown wire NSS circuit.

yep. But the brown goes straight to the starter
where does the orange wire go.
neutral safety ?
bottom of the starter relay.. you can see the orange. I'm jumping from the orange to the brown

haven't done anything. Holidays and all. I'll try a new nss first. Easy to get to.
I would check the wires and the plugin first.
they "look" fine. Could be something in the wiring, though, that I can't see. That's why I thought the NSS would be fast to try
.
If one of the wires is broke inside its cover that could be causing your whole problem.
Or it could be a connection. Or connector
NSS switched fixed the jumper wire situation
Starts fine now without the jumper wire -
