I have a thumbwheel AM radio, out of my 1969 Cuda, that I want to convert to AM/FM Stereo, 4 speaker with AUX ports for MP3/CD etc... inputs. I know there are "multiple" companies that do these conversions and I heard they pretty much use the same parts.
I have an electronics background and are very good at soldering etc... The conversions look fairly simple to do, based on the various pics from these company press releases. I would like to do this conversion myself since I want to do the work and save the big bucks vs sending this out for the same service.
My questions are:
Are these conversion "kits" available for the do-it-yourself kind like myself? If so, who here has done this conversion on their own and what were the reviews.
Please let us know, since there must be more of us out there that want to do this conversion ourselves. Thanks, Steve Z
