if anyone has the 700r4 vid please PM me.

if you were rebuilding a 700 r4 what parts would you use..

heres my list

actully i got a reman kit from AZ for 14.99 KS-40 and the have 904 kits KS-20 for 10 bucks, no kidding go look on thier website
K17 kit http://www.transmissioncenter.net/stock_master_rebuild_kits.htm#700R4-4L60E

#K17. You get a stock Alto 700R4 master rebuild kit, oversize .500" Mega Valve, a Corvette servo plus an Alto Red Eagle band and filter. What this kit has that a stock 700R4 transmission doesn't have is the Alto Red Eagle band and an oversize pressure valve that is .029" larger than the largest factory valve. The Mega Valve will give your transmission firmer shifts and more holding force on the clutches and band. Fits Chevy 1987-1993 700R4 transmissions. Cost $145.00. SAVE $16.00 HERE !, 10% OFF

and a different reaction /reverse drum (the beast $44)

and a VB kit,new TC solonoid..plus a reman TC

what do you trans guys think? if there is something else let me know

what upgrades do you trans guys do.. this isnt a race app, its a daily driver pu 1500 4x4 , what the good and bad bout the OD 3and 4th clutches, is the Z pack worth it?

thanks for reading.

Don

you'll want to look into the upgrades for the OD clutches (adds one more set of plates) and upgrade the servo that applies the band. The Corvette had a better one, and even more crisp shifts can be had with aftermarket stuff. the Website you have listed has both, IIRC.

thanks the kit i ordered has the HE clutches (4l60e)for the 3-4, also it has the vette servo, larger bost valve, pluss i orderend the VB correction kit and the beast.

I will keep the cheapo 700r4 kit for another day..

You may be good to go on some of this, depending on what year transmission you have. Some things to be aware of (not sure what the cutoff years were):
1) Make sure you have the good low-reverse roller clutch (some of the earlier models had a plastic "cage" and fewer roller elements)
2) A change was made to the diameter of the front pump snout (I think 1987 began the new design)
3) There's a plastic thrust washer on the backside of the sun shell (I think... it's been a while) that could stand to be replaced with a torrington-style bearing. If it's not a super-duper-duty application, the plastic piece may be adequate.
4) A new separator plate is ~$20 well-spent.
5) When placed upon the chest, the transmission will become 100 pounds heavier.

There was some other crap, but the above items stand out most in my feeble mind.
