The engine is a 408 smallblock
stock edelbrock heads w/ hughes springs
Hughes 3237 cam (232/237 dur @ .50, 540/548 lift)
Eddie air gap intake
10.2:1 compression
Hughes roller rockers

TTI headers, X-pipe, turbo mufflers

3,000 stall Spec-Rite converter

727 tourqueflite
3.23 suregrip 8 3/4 rear

FBO "stockish" ignition (recurved dist by them)

I really built this for a fast street machine/sleeper (no cut hood, roll cage, etc). It will go to the local Friday night street drags, but I'm more interested in ease of operation than cutting a couple of tenths off of my 1/4 time.

Do any of you with a similar build run an Edelbrock 800? Is it enough for the stroker? I am more familiar with Eddie carbs, as I have one on my Dart and has been virtually trouble free for the last 4 years. (my Dart is a "built" slant six with an Eddie 500)

Whether it counts for anything, i'll be using an 800 cfm Holley spreadbore on my 318/390 stroker......has Eddy RPM heads...etc.

It's a little small but sounds good for what you're doing. Buy the strip kit for it and plan to tune it.

I run the 800 on my 408 which is basically the same as yours with the exception of Hughes EQ heads. Runs fine..
