I have been thinking about this for a few years.... Making clear lenses out of Lexan or some other type of plastic, and putting LED strips behind that......... What do you guys think? Has anyone done it already?
If you are talking about replacing the tail lights with the LED strips and clear lexan, you might run into a safety issue. Remember you must also have a reflector as part of the tail light assembly. This required by law if the car had it when manufactured, which it would have. The stock lenses are not just red but red with a reflector strip in it.
I would leave that for the Chevy Guys.

I think Year One sells LED bulbs for 1154/1157 tail lights.....come on quicker and are brighter....Well, what i'm thinking of is not just replacing the bulb, but using a strip, like a third brake light in a newer car.
I'll have to draw a picture sometime to show you. (prepare for the best 2nd grader drawing in the world)
i've been thinking about same thing using a strip but why not just use the stock lens and just use a strip behind them? would be easier then making new lenses.
