Anyone into go karts?

That reminds me of BBC tractor

Saw that on one of my YouTube forays. That thing is insane! There's a video out there of some one that put a Suzuki GSX 1100 cc engine on one. Would not hook to save his life. LOL

I've been racing 2 stroke karts for a long time and love it. Not your back yard kart type but ones that race on road courses. I won a 100cc championship twice in 2008 and 2009.

The dirt track days of not long ago.
My crew chief Maxx and I scoping out the newly ventilated Briggs crankcase next door

My brother and I went in together and bought a Rupp Sprint Kart. We used to race on asphalt track I'm about 20 miles from our house. This was back in 1969 and 70 and 71. We used
McCullough's. we had a Mac 75 with two carburetors running on alcohol rhat was our main engine. We ran Mac 8s and Mac nines and Mac 10s.
Now they are just basically obsolete but we had fun.

They have a vintage kart event every summer that has Blackhawk karts and such with those style motors.

My son and I bought an old, unknown chassis a few years back and built it. He now SCCA autocrosses it in the Local D.C. region autox events. It's been a blast.

So far I'm thinking that a front engine radio flyer kart would have a more classic look with the engine in the front, but have more logistic driveline issues.

A rear engined kart is much more simple as far as the driveline. The weight distribution wouldn't be as good because all the weight is towards the rear of the kart.

I found out an average 5 hp Briggs engine weighs 30 to 40 pounds.
