Hey,. Wondering if any of you are running the .028 thick Mr. Gasket head gaskets.

There are a few bad reviews over at summit on these so i wanted to get a few more opinions. I know their leaks could have been prep or head/block related too.

Anyhow the thinness of it makes them attractive, and my pistons are .048 in the hole so I have room!

Thanks for wny info.

I have them. 1974 360 motorhome block and I bolted on some x heads. I liked the compressed thickness as well because of the piston depth. Running them for a year, no problems so far. Didn't do anything special, just cleaned surfaces well.

There's generally nothing wrong with the gaskets themselves. The problem when using thin gaskets is both sealing surfaces has to be nice and flat. Some guys think they can just toss them on a block that has 100,000+ miles along with heads that also have a ton of miles and they'll seal fine. Then when the don't they blame the gaskets

Ran them on the old turd 360 I had. They worked great.

I used them on an 86 318 when I swapped to EQ Magnum heads. 2500 miles no problems.
